Relief and celebration
Nearly two weeks have passed since the bachelor
party...
... and oh, how I miss Vegas! Even though I spent
most of the time in my room, it was still great to be there - good friends and a
good time. As previously decided, though, all focus since Vegas has been on the
move. Every day has started with several hours of phone calls confirming
something, enquiring about something else, or cancelling some other thing.
Yesterday was a high spot, though - lunch with Lisa Marie De Roma, the key
make-up artist on "Quitters". She gave me some make-up pointers for the "Due
North" shoot this coming Sunday and even put together a little make-up kit for
me. How amazing is that, eh? She definitely ranks high in the "nicest people I
know" category.
So in the middle of all
of the stress, chaos, and money woes, a very pleasant surprise: ASCAP came
through with a five-figure residual cheque! That should get us comfortably
through the move and on into January or so when the "Scout's Safari" residuals
kick back in a for a few months... that is if I can behave myself as we pass
through Vegas! Now, though, I've got to hop in the shower and get over to a
focus group. It's about gas... natural gas, I think... and it's paying $100 for
two hours. You can't beat that, eh?
