Full swing
I wrote two cues for "Due North" last night and
then, this morning, I started tearing down the studio.
It never fails to amaze me how complicated my
studio has grown over the years. I even found a few cables I couldn't identify.
I only hope they mean something when I set the gear up
again.I'm really not sure how I'm going
to get everything in the van, though. It all seems much bigger out of the
room.So anyway, the move is now
definitely in full swing. I packed up the living room a couple of days ago, the
studio's completely disassembled, and my in-laws arrived tonight. A week
tomorrow (make that today, now), the van will pull up. We had a bit of a scare
earlier in the day when the moving company called to give us the number of the
sub-contractor and also to remind us that we have to be there at the border with
the truck. This is NOT what we were told when we booked them. Obviously,
there's no way we can get there in time. (In addition to leaving two days
later, we're going to have to make a lot of stops for the kids.) Anyway, it
turned out not to be true, and the guy I talked to, Hakan, almost laughed when I
asked him if they were bonded with Canadian customs - they're based in
Vancouver! I knew the 604 area code felt familiar - I've been calling that area
code over the last four years for
work.Anyway, here are a few pictures of
the studio. By the end of tomorrow, the room will be empty (except for my
in-laws who are using it as a guest
room).
It really was a great room to work in. I'll miss
it.
When
I say I've got a lot of cables,I mean I've
got a lot of
cables.
A
wife's worst nightmare - gear invades the living
room.
About halfway
through.
Finished
for the day.
